Full-Stack Software Engineer
AMP Dynamic is an AI-native holding company that builds and acquires software businesses solving real-world problems. AutoSignal is our platform modernizing how used auto parts businesses operate, from vehicle intake and inventory to compatibility data, listing, and fulfillment.
If you're the kind of engineer who loves cars, knows the difference between LKQ and OEM, and would rather spend a Saturday wrenching than watching TV, you'll fit right in. This is a chance to build mission-critical software from the ground floor and solve real problems for real businesses. This role is based in Charlotte, NC on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do
- Build core product features across our stack: TypeScript, React, and Next.js on the front end, with Supabase and Convex powering the back end
- Work AI-native: use Claude, Codex, and Gemini and agentic workflows to ship faster, while reading every line and owning what reaches production
- Integrate marketplace and ecommerce APIs such as eBay Motors and Shopify
- Develop pricing and listing automation that drives real revenue impact
- Collaborate closely with founders and customers for fast iteration
- Own systems end to end: build, ship, learn, improve
Who you are
- You've fully embraced the AI-agent way of working, but you're not dependent on it. You know the difference between the tools, where each one shines, and you can always read and reason about the code yourself
- You love cars and love blending software with a physical-world industry
- You work quickly, pragmatically, and take ownership
- You care deeply about user experience and outcomes
- You thrive in a startup environment with autonomy and responsibility
Who this role is not for
We like to be upfront about fit, because we're looking for a specific kind of person.
- This is not an entry-level role. If you're just starting out or don't yet have real experience, this particular role isn't the right fit
- It's not for someone who needs constant hand-holding or rigid structure. You should be able to take an ambiguous problem and figure it out quickly
- It's not for someone who leans on AI to do the thinking for them and ships work they can't explain or stand behind
- It's not for someone who feels they're done learning. We want people with real experience who still push to get better every day
Benefits and work environment
We believe great work happens when talented people are trusted, supported, and given the right tools to perform at a high level. We value autonomy, ownership, and thoughtful execution.
- 41 days of paid time off per year across vacation, holidays, and personal time, and we encourage the team to fully disconnect and recharge
- Flexible start times and a work-from-anywhere policy for a number of weeks each year, with a focus on results and accountability over rigid schedules
- Best-in-class equipment and tools: modern hardware, premium design and development software, and whatever you need to perform at a high level
- An AI-native workplace that actively encourages modern AI tools to amplify creativity, research, iteration speed, and execution. The goal is to equip talented people, not replace them
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of modern full-stack development. This is not an entry-level role
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript / TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- AI-native engineer: you've genuinely used Claude, Codex, and Gemini and embraced agentic development, and you know their limits. You can read and reason about the code yourself and never ship what you don't understand
- Comfortable with API-driven architecture and REST or GraphQL services
- Experience designing and integrating scalable backend systems. We use both Supabase and Convex, so experience with either or both is a plus
- Solid database fundamentals
- Hands-on automotive experience: you've personally replaced parts, understood compatibility challenges, and bought or sold parts (bonus if via eBay Motors)
- Genuine passion for cars, wrenching, motorsports, or automotive communities
